Own your copy!

You need to be your own social site.

Everyone calm down. This isn’t the end of the world. This isn’t the end. This is just a hiccup. It happens. It’s normal. Your entire social media life is in their hands, not yours. Unless...

In the last few days I’ve noticed a few technical hiccups with Google and Instagram and although that might be a bit annoying, seeing how some are reacting in the most catastrophic way.

It makes me laugh. Those who post their life onto Facebook, Inc. site and act as if they are owed something.

A great business professor taught me years ago, “If you pay for a product, you’re the customer. If the product is free for you, you’re the company’s product”.

He pushes the argument that you need to have your own website, and from there copy the content to the social media outlets. No one is going to care more about your business than you, so make sure that you’re posting to yourself first. Then, send it out to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, etc.

We all want to reach our niche, our audience, a new audience,..let’s face it, the known universe. Let’s do it and own what’s ours in the process.
